The Studio · The Founder
Built on a belief about language.
Sunlit Studios Africa began with a belief about language: that whoever shapes the narrative shapes what becomes possible.
Cathy Kamau has spent her working life around language and story, in rooms where the way something is said determines what gets understood and what gets done. Along the way she kept returning to a conviction: that African stories are too often told in voices that are not African, and that a voice carrying warmth, clarity, and a genuine sense of place could do real good in the world.
Sunlit Studios Africa is the studio she built to act on that conviction. Founded in Nairobi and trained in the lineage of Kenya's established voice acting tradition — through a business-building voice acting programme with one of the country's most respected voice talents — Sunlit offers voice over, narration, voice acting and interpretation, with the long-term ambition of becoming a recognised home for African-authored audiobook narration and policy storytelling.
